Simple ingredients. Serious results.
The best body scrubs don't need long ingredient lists. This one has four — and each one is there for a specific reason.
Himalayan salt is the exfoliating backbone of the formula. Mined from ancient sea salt deposits in the Khewra Salt Mine in Pakistan, it's naturally rich in 84 trace minerals including magnesium, calcium, and potassium. The crystal structure of Himalayan salt makes it an exceptionally effective physical exfoliant — coarse enough to buff away dead skin cells effectively, but dissolving readily on contact with water so it never feels harsh or abrasive. Unlike synthetic microbeads or sugar, it leaves a naturally mineral-rich residue on the skin after rinsing.
Coconut oil serves as both the carrier for the salt crystals and a nourishing treatment in its own right. It disperses the grapefruit essential oil evenly through the scrub, helps the formula glide smoothly over skin, and leaves a light conditioning layer after rinsing. It's the reason this scrub leaves skin feeling noticeably softer immediately after use rather than just clean.
Vitamin E — tocopherol — provides natural antioxidant support and helps preserve the integrity of the coconut oil in the formula. It also contributes its own skin-conditioning properties, supporting the skin's surface against environmental stress.
Grapefruit peel oil — cold-pressed from the fruit — is the final ingredient and the one that makes this scrub genuinely enjoyable to use. Sharp, bright, and intensely uplifting, it transforms what could be a functional skincare step into something that genuinely lifts your mood. The citrus scent fills the shower beautifully and fades naturally after rinsing, leaving skin subtly and delicately scented.

How to use
In the shower or bath, scoop a small amount and massage gently onto damp skin using circular motions — focusing on knees, elbows, and any rough patches. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow with your favourite body moisturiser while skin is still slightly damp for maximum softness.
💡 150g tip: Use the bamboo spoon to scoop cleanly without introducing water into the jar — keeping the formula fresh and extending its shelf life.
✨ Top tip: Apply to dry skin before stepping into the shower for a more intensive exfoliation — the dry application allows the salt crystals to work more effectively before the water dissolves them.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I use a body scrub? Once or twice a week is ideal for most skin types. The Himalayan salt crystals are effective but gentle — they dissolve readily on contact with water, making this suitable for regular use without over-exfoliating. If you have particularly sensitive skin, start with once a week and increase if your skin responds well. Always follow with a moisturiser while skin is still slightly damp.
Is Himalayan salt better than sugar or synthetic exfoliants? Himalayan salt and sugar both work well as natural exfoliants — the key difference is mineral content. Himalayan salt is naturally rich in 84 trace minerals that are left on the skin surface after rinsing, whereas sugar dissolves completely and leaves nothing behind. Synthetic microbeads are effective exfoliants but are an environmental disaster — they pass through water treatment systems and accumulate in waterways and marine life. This scrub uses Himalayan salt exclusively — no synthetic particles, no microplastics.
Will this scrub leave my skin feeling dry? No — the coconut oil base means this scrub conditions as it exfoliates. The oil disperses evenly over skin during application and leaves a light nourishing layer after rinsing. Most people find their skin feels noticeably softer and more comfortable immediately after use. We'd still recommend following with a body moisturiser, particularly in winter or if you have dry skin.
Is this safe to use on the face? We'd recommend keeping this for the body rather than the face. The Himalayan salt crystals are excellent for the thicker skin of the body but may be too abrasive for facial skin — particularly around the eyes and nose. For facial exfoliation, our Pink Clay Face Mask Powder is a gentler option.
Can I use this in the bath as well as the shower? Yes — it works beautifully in both. In the bath, apply before getting in for a dry exfoliation, then rinse in the bath water. In the shower, apply to damp skin and rinse as normal. Either way, follow with moisturiser afterwards.
What's the difference between the 50g and 150g sizes? The 50g at £5 is a brilliant introduction — perfect for travelling, trying before committing to the full size, or keeping in a gym bag. The 150g at £20 includes a bamboo spoon for clean, hygienic scooping and is better value for regular use at home.
